SCIENTIFIC ACTIVITY: RESEARCH AND AWARDS
Author of 203 scientific publications on subjects of Structural Engineering, Materials Engineering and
Fracture Mechanics. In particular, 85 papers have been published on the most important Journals of the field. In 2012 he was awarded by the American Concrete Institute of the “ACI Wason Medal for Material
Research” for his research on structural concrete. In 2014 he was awarded by Henan University of
Technology (Zhengzhou, China) of honorary professorship in structural mechanics.
Reviewer for many Journals of Fracture and Solid Mechanics and in Structural and Material Engineering. Evaluator of industrial and research projects for Italian, European and international funding agencies. Coordinator of many research projects in the Department of Structural and Geotechnical Engineering, total
funding more than 2.800.000 Euro.

He currently teaches the Course “Structural mechanics” for the Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering and the
Course “Advanced Structural Mechanics” for the Master Degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering.
CONSULTING AND START UP ACTIVITY
In 2004 he was one of the founders of the consultancy firm ARCOS Engineering in Torino (Italy) – http://www.arcos-engineering.it. Now he is member of the Board of the firm.
In 2014 he was one of the founders of the firm MAG Srl, start-up of the Intl Telematic University
Uninettuno, working on e-learning business, Rome. Now he is member of the Board
